After having played for 7 minutes, Jerold Williams managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Byoung Iland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerold Williams was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rico Dürst's late challenge caught a Piandera AC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rico Dürst helped the player get up and apologised. After 9 played minutes Byoung Iland got a freekick which was hit by Rico Dürst. Jerold Williams fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alessio Scenna having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Piandera AC's zone, Jerold Williams stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alessio Scenna came out of the goal and Jerold Williams tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cedric Fiadone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Chris Favre was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gregory Roy. Bennett Heller kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Allan Oberholzer sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Piandera AC's Alessio Scenna didn't even have to move. Cedric Fiadone struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Chris Favre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piandera AC. 32 minutes into the match, Byoung Iland's Owain Michon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alessio Scenna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Byoung Iland reached it. In the 45th minute Jerold Williams shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alessio Scenna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alessio Scenna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Owain Michon in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cedric Fiadone was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Jerold Williams managed to get in a good position for a shot. Byoung Iland's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerold Williams was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alessio Scenna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alessio Scenna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerold Williams in the 61st minute of play. If Jerold Williams had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Byoung Iland could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Piandera AC throughout the match.
