Spectators: 6774 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Friedel Neuenschwander kicked off to start the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Friedel Neuenschwander kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arturo Figini. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. In the 9th minute, Berisal's Niklaus Otter seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Niklaus Otter the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Berisal protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Niklaus Otter had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Mathieu Kernen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Odin Shuster, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. August Zurbuchen charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed August Zurbuchen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mathieu Kernen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raphael Schmidlin's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Odin Shuster sped through Berisal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mathieu Kernen. Raphael Schmidlin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Mathieu Kernen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Berisal's zone, Raphael Schmidlin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mathieu Kernen came out of the goal and Raphael Schmidlin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Odin Shuster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathieu Kernen having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Odin Shuster in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mathieu Kernen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Herman Bayer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raphael Schmidlin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mathieu Kernen having to make a save.

The audience was convinced that Odin Shuster's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mathieu Kernen was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Neyruz SC's Odin Shuster got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Odin Shuster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathieu Kernen having to interfere. With a little luck, Berisal's Mathieu Kernen got control of the ball when Raphael Schmidlin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mathieu Kernen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raphael Schmidlin went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Beniamino Schaerer kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. 81 minutes into the match, Raphael Schmidlin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mathieu Kernen. Berisal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raphael Schmidlin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Berisal's Mathieu Kernen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Berisal from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Berisal getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. August Zurbuchen hit a great ball. Berisal's Mathieu Kernen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Odin Shuster in the 95th minute of play. Herman Bayer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Herman Bayer's late challenge caught a Neyruz SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Herman Bayer helped the player get up and apologised. Herman Bayer hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. The Berisal supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Neyruz SC's performance. The match ended with a win for Neyruz SC.
