Germain Pratter hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 8 minutes into the match, FC Styls's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Filli came free, but Jan Lehrer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Aberle in the 9th minute of play forced FC Styls's goalkeeper Jan Lehrer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kappelen SC's Peter Filli got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Diego Aberle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kappelen SC were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after FC Styls's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bernd Schurter took the corner. Kappelen SC's Bernd Schurter was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jan Lehrer in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 30th match minute, Kappelen SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Aberle to maneuver through the defense. FC Styls's Barney Schär got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 39thth minute of the game Peter Filli who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Styls's Jan Lehrer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Peter Filli sped through FC Styls's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jan Lehrer. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The crowd rose to their feet as Kappelen SC's Peter Filli slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jan Lehrer. That made the score 1-2 after 51 minutes of play. Norman Murray charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Norman Murray the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Scott Beschmann during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Kappelen SC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Scott Beschmann hit a great ball. If Barney Schär had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peter Filli was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 69th minute. Kappelen SC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 70 played minutes FC Styls got a freekick which was hit by Gunnar Heller. Diego Aberle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Lehrer having to interfere. Kappelen SC's Giona Schwarz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barney Schär in the 76th minute of play. The supporters of Kappelen SC booed when FC Styls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jadon Bärtschi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan Lehrer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diego Aberle in the 84th minute. A collision led to FC Styls getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Jadon Bärtschi hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Peter Filli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kappelen SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Peter Filli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan Lehrer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jan Lehrer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Filli in the 90th minute of play. Diego Aberle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jan Lehrer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Filli, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Diego Aberle's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 96thth minute, Jan Lehrer skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The Kappelen SC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
