Spectators: 7624 (Terracing: 5797, Seating: 1777, VIP seats: 50) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Arnaldo Frei took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute, Arnaldo Frei ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cecil Gregg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When FC Sion's Tobis Büto in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lootscher FC's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 7 minutes, Sven Ambauen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Sion's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven Ambauen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Sion's Argus Aiello proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save FC Sion from getting a goal against them. If Arnaldo Frei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Timo Jaun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cecil Gregg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven Ambauen in the 16th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Lootscher FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tobis Büto came free, but Cecil Gregg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lootscher FC's Cecil Gregg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Frei in the 20th minute of play. Cecil Gregg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven Ambauen in the 21st minute of play. Lutz Brunelle struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Argus Aiello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lootscher FC. Cecil Gregg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tobis Büto in the 29th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arnaldo Frei in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cecil Gregg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, FC Sion's Argus Aiello got control of the ball when Lutz Brunelle tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Tobis Büto put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Cecil Gregg. Peter Sevier kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobis Büto in the 39th minute of play forced Lootscher FC's goalkeeper Cecil Gregg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sven Ambauen took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cecil Gregg. Cecil Gregg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. After the first half FC Sion were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Peter Sevier made a kick off. With a little luck, Lootscher FC's Cecil Gregg got control of the ball when Arnaldo Frei tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 55 played minutes FC Sion got a freekick which was hit by Sven Ambauen. The supporters of Lootscher FC booed when FC Sion was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven Ambauen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peter Sevier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lutz Brunelle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Argus Aiello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Peter Sevier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Argus Aiello was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Samuel Villiger during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 66 minutes into the game, one of FC Sion:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 69th minute there was a penalty for Lootscher FC. Linus Donsante stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Argus Aiello. 3-4. In the 74th minute, FC Sion's Sven Ambauen ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cecil Gregg. Cecil Gregg yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-5. After some careless play in the Lootscher FC defense, Tobis Büto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cecil Gregg. The Lootscher FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cecil Gregg should have stopped the shot. A collision led to FC Sion getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Sven Ambauen hit a great ball. In the 86th minute Lutz Brunelle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Argus Aiello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, FC Sion's Simon Rohn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cecil Gregg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sven Ambauen scored 3-7 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cecil Gregg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Sion walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
