The audience thought a goal was coming when Lee Pellandini got free with Birger Pollastrini in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lee Pellandini kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 4thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Promille FC's keeper Birger Pollastrini was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Patrik Babst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynold Pfenniger, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. ARAPONGAS's Patrik Babst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Etienne Borghi in the 7th minute of play. In the 12thth minute of the game Reynold Pfenniger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ARAPONGAS's Patrik Babst was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ken Aeberli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lee Pellandini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Birger Pollastrini having to interfere. Ken Aeberli struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Birger Pollastrini didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ARAPONGAS. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Etienne Borghi to make the kick off. Promille FC's attentive Eugene Walz managed to snatch the ball when Michel Weingart made a throw-in in the 73rd minute of the game. Lee Pellandini's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Birger Pollastrini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Larry Feiss's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Birger Pollastrini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. ARAPONGAS's Patrik Babst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reynold Pfenniger in the 90th minute of play. When Lee Pellandini fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ARAPONGAS's protests and gave Lee Pellandini a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91st match minute, ARAPONGAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lee Pellandini to maneuver through the defense. Larry Feiss took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Birger Pollastrini. Birger Pollastrini dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Promille FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
