Olympio Helmholz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christian Frankfurter having to make a save. Fabian Gisler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fremont Ettlin in the 17th minute of the match. Ceddric Schär fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Gisler having to interfere. Patrice Tanguay hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. The Fc Olten fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Fc Olten's Fremont Ettlin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The Monte Brè fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabian Gisler should have stopped the shot. Silvanus Despland hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Levi Gräf made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Fc Olten got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Vogler.
