After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Willy Bragger managed to get in a good position for a shot. kingzz's supporters rose to their feet, but Willy Bragger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hans-Ruedi Filli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joao Lugg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Amstad in the 22nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC Ämmebronx's zone, Pepe Bircher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hans-Ruedi Filli came out of the goal and Pepe Bircher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Ämmebronx's Fabio Amstad slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Joao Lugg. That made the score 1-1 after 27 minutes of play. FC Ämmebronx's Hans-Ruedi Filli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willy Bragger in the 38th minute of play. Pepe Bircher blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hans-Ruedi Filli having to make a save. With an all-out effort, FC Ämmebronx's Joao Lugg threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fabio Amstad, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
