Lex Zingre charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lex Zingre the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 4th minute Jaromir Fuchs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentino Maina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lex Zingre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serge Frei having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Lameiro FC's Andre Doucet slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Serge Frei. That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. Artur Freihofer might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Serge Frei. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Artur Freihofer ran back to his position shaking his head. Eduard Gschwind kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Andre Doucet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Serge Frei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andre Doucet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 21st minute of the match, Garrick Curti got a very nice opportunity to score, but Serge Frei was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 41st minute Andre Doucet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serge Frei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Lex Zingre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lameiro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lex Zingre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serge Frei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lex Zingre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serge Frei having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The Lameiro FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Garrick Curti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serge Frei having to interfere. Serge Frei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lex Zingre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute, Lex Zingre made a precise shot to the right of Serge Frei. FC Volketswil's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. After a defensive mix-up in FC Volketswil's zone, Artur Freihofer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serge Frei came out of the goal and Artur Freihofer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of FC Volketswil booed when Lameiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Othello Desforges didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC Volketswil's zone, Andre Doucet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serge Frei came out of the goal and Andre Doucet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81st minute, Artur Freihofer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Artur Freihofer in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Serge Frei prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in FC Volketswil's zone, Garrick Curti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serge Frei came out of the goal and Garrick Curti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 87 minutes into the game, John Nick cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Serge Frei was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. FC Volketswil's Serge Frei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artur Freihofer in the 92nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Lameiro FC's Lex Zingre got a free kick in the 95th minute. Lameiro FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
