The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Lütmerken's zone, Bastien Visser stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remi Mader came out of the goal and Bastien Visser tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Remi Mader made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Sascha Waller sent off a good shot on target. 6 minutes into the game, Fabian Strebel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Belfaux's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lütmerken the free kick. Fabian Strebel hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute of the match Lionel Beich shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gaston Schwyzer showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Anthony Mader kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Remi Mader stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Harold Hinnen's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Lütmerken's players were relieved. eAntonio Filli was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 32 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, one of Belfaux:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Belfaux. The supporters of Lütmerken booed when Belfaux was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Massimo Nussbaum didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Harold Hinnen to make the kick off. If Harold Hinnen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 56th minute Harold Hinnen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remi Mader saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giuseppe Langelier kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Belfaux made a substitution. Moritz Büeler replaced Ivan Sperisen. Gaston Schwyzer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karim Meier in the 67th minute of play. Lütmerken's Remi Mader played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harold Hinnen in the 70th minute of play. A collision led to Lütmerken getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Stefano Labrie hit a great ball. Elmar Kronenberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Remi Mader showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harold Hinnen, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Bastien Visser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mathieu Clèment hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Anthony Mader kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gaston Schwyzer. That made the score 0-2 in the 95 minute of play. Chants of Lütmerken echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Belfaux had held the ball for most of the match.
