After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Hans-Ruedi Figini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Romanel HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hans-Ruedi Figini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tony Frey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Felicien Bourgouin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Wertscher in the 44th minute of play. If Rodrigo Wertscher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rodrigo Wertscher stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee ignored Romanel HC's protests and gave Peder Meisser a yellow card for diving instead. In the 50th match minute, Romanel HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peder Meisser to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Tegerfelden's zone, Hans-Ruedi Figini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Wertscher couldn't finish the play. 65 minutes into the match, Uberto Ackerman notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Tegerfelden's Tony Frey. Tony Frey was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tony Frey had in the 88thth minute some difficulties stopping Lester Kretz's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Felicien Bourgouin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enea Wechsler in the 95th minute. Erwin Amiel's late challenge caught a Romanel HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erwin Amiel helped the player get up and apologised. In the 96th match minute, Tegerfelden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erwin Amiel to maneuver through the defense. For all the effort they put into the match, the Tegerfelden players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Romanel HC.
