Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eugenio Zarrella started the match with the kick off. Luis Hitz came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Lugano's Simon Sanger. But to his dismay, Simon Sanger quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. FC Lugano's Dietrich Bucheli got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 15 minutes into the match, Eugenio Zarrella notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of A.C LUGANO's Luis Hitz. Luis Hitz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mikael Wiedemeier hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 24th match minute, A.C LUGANO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Silvestri to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the match, Jirko Bur notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of A.C LUGANO's Luis Hitz. Luis Hitz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Matthew Fäh's late challenge caught a FC Lugano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matthew Fäh helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to A.C LUGANO getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Matthew Fäh hit a great ball. A.C LUGANO's Luis Hitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulric Donsante in the 39th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Mikael Wiedemeier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half FC Lugano were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ove Grüter made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Simon Sanger kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luis Hitz. That made the score 0-5 in the 54 minute of play. After a rather tough play, A.C LUGANO's Simon Jurt got a free kick in the 66th minute. After 72 played minutes FC Lugano got a freekick which was hit by Favian Muff. Hassan Ferber, 73 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 76 minutes into the match, A.C LUGANO's goalkeeper Luis Hitz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jirko Bur. In the 79th minute, Simon Sanger left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Lugano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. Eugenio Zarrella fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Hitz having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Ove Grüter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Godo Gøl was relentless in the 95th minute of the game.
