A.C LUGANO's Ove Grüter got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Hrvatska's Joey Zwygart got a free kick in the 11th minute. Hassan Ferber could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Timoteo Mela made a huge save. The supporters of Hrvatska booed when A.C LUGANO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Jurt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emery Affolter kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Paulo Drechsler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Hitz having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Flavian Wermuth in the 40th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Hrvatska's Chip Zeier. Luis Hitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Drechsler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A.C LUGANO's Luis Hitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uriel Melone in the 45th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ove Grüter to make the kick off. Flavian Wermuth hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute Joey Zwygart managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Uriel Melone got free with Luis Hitz in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hrvatska's Timoteo Mela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ove Grüter in the 67th minute of play. After 71 minutes of play A.C LUGANO's Flavian Wermuth was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to A.C LUGANO getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Flavian Wermuth hit a great ball. Emery Affolter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Luis Hitz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emery Affolter hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute Hassan Ferber suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. 84 minutes into the game, Uriel Melone was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hrvatska's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A.C LUGANO the free kick. In the 85th minute, Uriel Melone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Many of Hrvatska's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Hrvatska may have spent more time on the ball, but A.C LUGANO were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
