The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With 3 minutes on the clock, Graham Staffelbach commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Through an outstanding action, after 11 minutes, Loic Lindemann successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ufstieger Jungs were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Berna FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Forrester Frei took the corner. Loic Lindemann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harald Wilhelm in the 15th minute of the match. Bieito Iñigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hampton Jeker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Romero Zacchia took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Loic Lindemann to make any attempt to save it. In the 24th minute, Lyonel Dillier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Berna FC booed when Ufstieger Jungs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romero Zacchia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 27 played minutes, Berna FC's Philippe Schauber shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bieito Iñigo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Berna FC reached it. If Harald Wilhelm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marius Frère hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harald Wilhelm in the 41st minute of play forced Berna FC's goalkeeper Loic Lindemann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute Raymond Kobel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bieito Iñigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Harald Wilhelm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Harald Wilhelm made a kick off. Leopoldo Schoch recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Raymond Kobel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Berna FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Raymond Kobel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bieito Iñigo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Harald Wilhelm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bieito Iñigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hampton Jeker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Berna FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Joey Loiacono hit a great ball. Harald Wilhelm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loic Lindemann having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Leopoldo Schoch made a precise shot to the right of Loic Lindemann. Berna FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. 86 minutes into the match, Berna FC's goal looked a bit too open when Harald Wilhelm came free, but Loic Lindemann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Loic Lindemann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harald Wilhelm in the 88th minute of play. Bieito Iñigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hampton Jeker, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. There was no doubt that Ufstieger Jungs were the better team. Ufstieger Jungs's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
