Urban Plouffe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Michael Theiler made a huge save. 40 minutes into the match, Red-Skorpion's goal looked a bit too open when Bairee McGlenn came free, but Michael Theiler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yvan Cicchetti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Timoteo Bayer in the 42nd minute of the match. Michael Theiler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso De Grandis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yvan Cicchetti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miroslav Jenzer in the 44th minute of play. Yvan Cicchetti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abraham Rothstein, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Red-Skorpion's Michael Theiler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alonzo Vermudo in the 82nd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Alfonso De Grandis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Michael Theiler. Red-Skorpion's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfonso De Grandis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Alfonso De Grandis scored 6-0 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Michael Theiler, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alfonso De Grandis took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Michael Theiler. Michael Theiler dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Cuba Libre Basel had played much better football throughout.
