Goran Lindegger hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After 9 played minutes, Zelg FC's Albain Furst shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Stig Verlengia came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Zelg FC reached it. After 15 played minutes Liver Bird got a freekick which was hit by Teobaldo Loewe. 16 minutes into the match, Zelg FC's Albain Furst broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Zelg FC's Sepp Mainville played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timoteo Kuhn in the 23rd minute of play. In the 24th minute, Zelg FC's Gilles Clerc ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Stig Verlengia. Stig Verlengia yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Zelg FC were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after Liver Bird's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Albain Furst took the corner. The corner led Zelg FC's Albain Furst to fire away a dangerous shot which Stig Verlengia despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Herz in the 32nd minute of play forced Liver Bird's goalkeeper Stig Verlengia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd play minute Jonas Herz came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Stig Verlengia. 2-1. Zelg FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Albain Furst in the 36th minute. Stig Verlengia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Herz in the 42nd minute of the match. Lenny Traugott was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 47 minutes into the match. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Zelg FC! After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gilles Clerc stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Liver Bird's goalkeeper Stig Verlengia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sepp Mainville made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pat Eggers in the 57th minute. In the 59th minute Gilles Clerc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stig Verlengia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zelg FC's attentive Stephan Eichenberger managed to snatch the ball when Gunnar Fridli made a throw-in in the 64th minute of the game. Pat Eggers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Sepp Mainville tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Pat Eggers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sepp Mainville saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nathaniel Howald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Sepp Mainville tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zelg FC's Rodolphe Blazsovies was substituted for Irwin Monney. Liver Bird's Jonathan Lamontagne was substituted for Kryspin Raflewski. Liver Bird's Clinton Werfel was substituted for Pat Eggers. Clinton Werfel might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sepp Mainville. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
