Roderik Kindts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yanniek Vincx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jairo Oliveira charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jairo Oliveira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jairo Oliveira kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Roderik Kindts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yanniek Vincx in the 17th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Teo Du Bois took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Lars Van Havent to make any attempt to save it. If Jon Figaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, KV Winnik's goal looked a bit too open when Teo Du Bois came free, but Lars Van Havent reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jon Figaro in the 37th minute of play forced KV Winnik's goalkeeper Lars Van Havent to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute, Ward De Jonghe fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Jon Figaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Lars Van Havent tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jon Figaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th match minute, KVSK Mechelen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jairo Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Philipp Vercammen made a kick off. Jon Figaro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 60th minute Jon Figaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lars Van Havent saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jon Figaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When KVSK Mechelen's Ward De Jonghe in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. If Yanniek Vincx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute, Remy Loozen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. KVSK Mechelen's Roderik Kindts proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save KVSK Mechelen from getting a goal against them. KVSK Mechelen's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
