When Luukas Van Linthoud, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 17 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Ioan Ciocârlan was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After 19 minutes, Steffe Roekeloos made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Real Saltamontes's Ioan Ciocârlan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ioan Ciocârlan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steffe Roekeloos in the 22nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Kang Hong Yu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Saltamontes's supporters rose to their feet, but Kang Hong Yu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vicente Reynaerts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 28 minutes into the match, VC Lichtervelde's goal looked a bit too open when Edmond Jannis came free, but Vicente Reynaerts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Real Saltamontes booed when VC Lichtervelde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Perry Wijngaerts didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Real Saltamontes's Sylven Henskens slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vicente Reynaerts. That made the score 4-1 after 38 minutes of play. Real Saltamontes's Edmond Jannis got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edmond Jannis might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vicente Reynaerts. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edmond Jannis ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Steffe Roekeloos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vicente Reynaerts stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmond Jannis's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. After 54 played minutes VC Lichtervelde got a freekick which was hit by Steffe Roekeloos. In the 57thth minute of the game Edmond Jannis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VC Lichtervelde's Vicente Reynaerts was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Steffe Roekeloos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Ioan Ciocârlan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the VC Lichtervelde defense, Sylven Henskens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vicente Reynaerts. The VC Lichtervelde fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vicente Reynaerts should have stopped the shot. Sylven Henskens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Ye Xiao Yi struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Vicente Reynaerts didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Saltamontes. Ye Xiao Yi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Sylven Henskens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 97 minutes, Ye Xiao Yi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Saltamontes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ye Xiao Yi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There was no doubt that Real Saltamontes were the better team. Real Saltamontes's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
