Tommie Coeckelberghs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 5 played minutes Ùnico Tongeren got a freekick which was hit by Floris De Potter. If Charl De Hooge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brend Gyselinx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Tommie Coeckelberghs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brend Gyselinx charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brend Gyselinx the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Brend Gyselinx hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Carel Van Kamp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charl De Hooge in the 27th minute of play. When Mario Van Bever fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ùnico Tongeren's protests and gave Mario Van Bever a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ùnico Tongeren fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 28th minute. Penalty! The crowd rose to their feet as Brend Gyselinx kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tommie Coeckelberghs. That made the score 1-0 in the 32 minute of play. Tommie Coeckelberghs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brend Gyselinx in the 39th minute of the match. Ùnico Tongeren's Dolf Temmerman got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Willem Lyens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

52 minutes into the game, Dolf Temmerman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Tommie Coeckelberghs was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 59th minute, Knutsegem's Alain De Becker dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. After a rather tough play, Knutsegem's Corneel Poelmans got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 69th minute, Alain De Becker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ùnico Tongeren's Carel Van Kamp proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Ùnico Tongeren from getting a goal against them. If Brend Gyselinx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dolf Temmerman might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommie Coeckelberghs. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dolf Temmerman ran back to his position shaking his head. Brend Gyselinx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Tommie Coeckelberghs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Brend Gyselinx came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Ùnico Tongeren fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brend Gyselinx couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Charl De Hooge took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Carel Van Kamp to make any attempt to save it. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
