Spectators: 6745 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1745, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Mattijs De Custer took the kick off in the first half of the match. Wout de Pelsmaker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Diego Knockaert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. RSC Moderscheid's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Lode Elssen 10 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. If Ian Ombelets had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 15 minutes, Philip Stuyck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RSC Moderscheid and the Sparta Waarschoot players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th match minute, RSC Moderscheid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philip Stuyck to maneuver through the defense. Bertrand Lanckneus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lode Elssen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute, Sparta Waarschoot's Lode Elssen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. In the 29th minute, Mattijs De Custer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diego Knockaert was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Wout de Pelsmaker struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Diego Knockaert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RSC Moderscheid. In the 37th minute Wout de Pelsmaker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Knockaert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ian Ombelets recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in RSC Moderscheid's zone, Ian Ombelets stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bertrand Lanckneus came out of the goal and Ian Ombelets tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lode Elssen was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Sparta Waarschoot getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Ludo Wegers hit a great ball. RSC Moderscheid's Wout de Pelsmaker got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 54 minutes, Ludo Wegers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sparta Waarschoot and the RSC Moderscheid players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sparta Waarschoot's Ludo Wegers got a free kick in the 55th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wout de Pelsmaker got free with Diego Knockaert in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Ian Ombelets had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bertrand Lanckneus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lode Elssen, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. If Mattijs De Custer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the game, Stijn Haesevoets was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sparta Waarschoot's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RSC Moderscheid the free kick. A collision led to Sparta Waarschoot getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Stijn Haesevoets hit a great ball. After some careless play in the RSC Moderscheid defense, Ian Ombelets kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bertrand Lanckneus. The RSC Moderscheid fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bertrand Lanckneus should have stopped the shot. In the 86th match minute, Sparta Waarschoot was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilian Degraef to maneuver through the defense. Diego Knockaert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mattijs De Custer in the 99th minute of play. RSC Moderscheid's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
