Wim Streels showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jurgen Kempenaerts in the 3rd minute of the match. After 5 minutes, Waut Jaspers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Liedekerke and the Upigny players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Liedekerke's Waut Jaspers got a free kick in the 5th minute. Benny Viskens was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 6th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 13th minute of the match Steven Van Deuren sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yannis Storms skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Upigny getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Joery Van Aerschodt hit a great ball. With a little luck, Upigny's Yannis Storms got control of the ball when Rocky Van Hespen tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pino Gijselinghs in the 20th minute of play forced Liedekerke's goalkeeper Wim Streels to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joery Van Aerschodt kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. When Rocky Van Hespen came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Liedekerke fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rocky Van Hespen couldn't finish the play. Upigny's Yannis Storms played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steffen Nelis in the 32nd minute of play. Julius Van Lint charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Julius Van Lint the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 34th match minute, Upigny was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julius Van Lint to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Liedekerke booed when Upigny was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Naets didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yannis Storms made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steffen Nelis in the 40th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Steffen Nelis was the one to do the kick off. Joery Van Aerschodt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Wim Streels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 55 minutes into the game, Willy Olbrechts was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liedekerke's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Upigny the free kick. Rocky Van Hespen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Yannis Storms tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yannis Storms showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rocky Van Hespen, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Liedekerke's zone, Jurgen Kempenaerts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wim Streels came out of the goal and Jurgen Kempenaerts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pino Gijselinghs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Wim Streels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wim Streels made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Pino Gijselinghs sent off a good shot on target. 84 minutes into the match, Liedekerke's goalkeeper Wim Streels had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pino Gijselinghs. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Rocky Van Hespen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liedekerke's supporters rose to their feet, but Rocky Van Hespen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yannis Storms breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rocky Van Hespen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yannis Storms having to interfere. In the 98th minute, Pino Gijselinghs left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Upigny fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Upigny eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
