If Willem Berckmans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in SK Kolegem's zone, Jos Koens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean-Louis Cockx came out of the goal and Jos Koens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, SK Kolegem's Roderik Roelants got a free kick in the 10th minute. Stef Milters took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 12th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jean-Louis Cockx. SK Kolegem's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jos Koens might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jean-Louis Cockx. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jos Koens ran back to his position shaking his head. Jean-Louis Cockx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jos Koens in the 21st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roderik Roelants got free with Nicolas Hensmans in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SK Kolegem's Jean-Louis Cockx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jos Koens in the 25th minute of play. When Henry Bastiaens fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nazareth-Eke's protests and gave Henry Bastiaens a yellow card for diving instead. Viktor Calstermans struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Nicolas Hensmans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SK Kolegem. Jos Koens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When SK Kolegem's Viktor Calstermans in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nazareth-Eke's goalie prevented a goal. Jean-Louis Cockx showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jos Koens, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Viktor Calstermans made a kick off. Nicolas Hensmans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roderik Roelants in the 54th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Nazareth-Eke's zone, Roderik Roelants stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolas Hensmans came out of the goal and Roderik Roelants tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute, Viktor Calstermans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute Viktor Calstermans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Hensmans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 67 minutes, Niels Standaerts mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SK Kolegem and the Nazareth-Eke players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 68th match minute, SK Kolegem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niels Standaerts to maneuver through the defense. When SK Kolegem's Viktor Calstermans, in the 71st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for SK Kolegem. After 94 played minutes Nazareth-Eke got a freekick which was hit by Siebe Reijdams. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SK Kolegem fans cheered their team off the field, for while Nazareth-Eke had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
