Spectators: 6732 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Henrik Reijers got the match started through his kick off. If Bastiaan Goethals had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chris-George Koenens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Joos Van Severen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joos Van Severen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bastiaan Goethals in the 9th minute. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Louis-Philippe Van De Velden sped through KVSK Kontich's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Giovanni Van Dock. The supporters of KVSK Kontich booed when Alster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vincent Van Kelf didn't get a good kick on the ball. Louis-Philippe Van De Velden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Will Gooris kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joos Van Severen. That made the score 1-1 in the 30 minute of play. Giovanni Van Dock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Louis-Philippe Van De Velden in the 37th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in KVSK Kontich's zone, Henrik Reijers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovanni Van Dock came out of the goal and Henrik Reijers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 40th match minute, KVSK Kontich was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris-George Koenens to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute, Henrik Reijers ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Giovanni Van Dock was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. KVSK Kontich's Bastiaan Goethals got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Joos Van Severen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bastiaan Goethals in the 53rd minute of play. If Louis-Philippe Van De Velden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Will Gooris came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the KVSK Kontich fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Will Gooris couldn't finish the play. After having played for 64 minutes, Bastiaan Goethals managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KVSK Kontich's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bastiaan Goethals was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Will Gooris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joos Van Severen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Will Gooris, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 72 played minutes KVSK Kontich got a freekick which was hit by Emmanuel Kint. The audience thought a goal was coming when Louis-Philippe Van De Velden got free with Giovanni Van Dock in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. KVSK Kontich's Will Gooris got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vicente Liboton hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 81st match minute, KVSK Kontich was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xander Steenberghs to maneuver through the defense. Giovanni Van Dock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrik Reijers in the 82nd minute of the match. Bastiaan Goethals fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joos Van Severen having to interfere. In the 95th minute Bastiaan Goethals shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joos Van Severen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see KVSK Kontich lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
