The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the game, Jeoffrey Van Den Abeele recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Remie Sielens. Jeoffrey Van Den Abeele showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Steffe Bernardts kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Peter Justens charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Peter Justens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, F.C. Zegelsem's Peter Justens got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 18thth minute of the game Leon Wollans who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C. Zegelsem's Phillipe Van der Poorten was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bertrix's Remie Sielens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Bertrix from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Bertrix's zone, Levi Terwenhout stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remie Sielens came out of the goal and Levi Terwenhout tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Bertrix getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Kasper Verhagen hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bertrix's zone, Levi Terwenhout stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remie Sielens came out of the goal and Levi Terwenhout tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 28th minute, Jeoffrey Van Den Abeele left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The F.C. Zegelsem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After having played for 31 minutes, Gwenn Ooms managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bertrix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gwenn Ooms was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Remie Sielens was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jeoffrey Van Den Abeele showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 39 minute of play. If Jeoffrey Van Den Abeele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When Jeoffrey Van Den Abeele came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the F.C. Zegelsem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeoffrey Van Den Abeele couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Levi Terwenhout's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Remie Sielens was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Bertrix's Ruud Van Meerbeec got a free kick in the 67th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Bertrix's zone, Levi Terwenhout stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeoffrey Van Den Abeele sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bavo Rutgeerts in the 80th minute of play forced Bertrix's goalkeeper Remie Sielens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Remie Sielens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeoffrey Van Den Abeele in the 81st minute of play. Remie Sielens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeoffrey Van Den Abeele, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. When Levi Terwenhout came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the F.C. Zegelsem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Levi Terwenhout couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. F.C. Zegelsem fully deserved thier win.
