The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Alster's goal looked a bit too open when Yelle Vissenaeken came free, but Joos Van Severen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yelle Vissenaeken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Joos Van Severen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rajmond Winnepennincx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vicente Liboton during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Alster getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Vicente Liboton hit a great ball. After 17 minutes of play, Wipelgem's Rajmond Winnepennincx made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joos Van Severen was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 22nd minute, Rajmond Winnepennincx got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicolaas Denturck came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Alster's Louis-Philippe Van De Velden. But to his dismay, Louis-Philippe Van De Velden quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Rajmond Winnepennincx's late challenge caught a Alster's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rajmond Winnepennincx helped the player get up and apologised. Rajmond Winnepennincx kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Joos Van Severen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yelle Vissenaeken, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Wipelgem's zone, Henrik Reijers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolaas Denturck came out of the goal and Henrik Reijers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 36 minutes into the game, Alster's Louis-Philippe Van De Velden nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicolaas Denturck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Henrik Reijers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Wipelgem's zone, Louis-Philippe Van De Velden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolaas Denturck came out of the goal and Louis-Philippe Van De Velden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Nicolaas Denturck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrik Reijers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute, Jakob Langendonckx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Alster booed when Wipelgem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herbert Van Geertruyden didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rajmond Winnepennincx was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 78th minute. Wipelgem's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 80th match minute, Alster was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabien De Raeve to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Rajmond Winnepennincx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joos Van Severen was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. Rajmond Winnepennincx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Alster's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
