In the 2nd match minute, Alster was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias De Schepper to maneuver through the defense. When Louis-Philippe Van De Velden came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Alster fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Louis-Philippe Van De Velden couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrik Reijers in the 9th minute of play forced KVSK Kontich's goalkeeper Giovanni Van Dock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henrik Reijers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Van Dock having to interfere. After a rather tough play, KVSK Kontich's Conrad Van Schoorisse got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute, Chris-George Koenens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bastiaan Goethals received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Joos Van Severen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Louis-Philippe Van De Velden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Henrik Reijers fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Joos Van Severen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bastiaan Goethals in the 33rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Alster's zone, Emmanuel Kint stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joos Van Severen came out of the goal and Emmanuel Kint tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustaaf Laremans lost his temper 38 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Alster fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Louis-Philippe Van De Velden was the one to do the kick off. Louis-Philippe Van De Velden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joos Van Severen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KVSK Kontich. In the 70th minute Louis-Philippe Van De Velden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanni Van Dock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alster's Joos Van Severen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Will Gooris in the 73rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Will Gooris in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joos Van Severen saved Alster from getting behind. 80 minutes into the match, Alster's goal looked a bit too open when Will Gooris came free, but Joos Van Severen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vincent Van Kelf during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Alster getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Vincent Van Kelf hit a great ball. If Will Gooris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bastiaan Goethals sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Perry Van Havent charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Perry Van Havent the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to KVSK Kontich getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Perry Van Havent hit a great ball. In the 96th minute, Gunther De Hooge got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. KVSK Kontich's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
