The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nicky Baeten's late challenge caught a Lede's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicky Baeten helped the player get up and apologised. In the 2nd match minute, Wendelghem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicky Baeten to maneuver through the defense. In the 7th match minute, Wendelghem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Schuts to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute, Ernst Berckmans sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Wendelghem's Jelle Liebrechts didn't even have to move. 10 minutes into the match, Lede's goal looked a bit too open when Fredrik Van Achter came free, but Roger Stuckers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lede's goalkeeper Roger Stuckers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 18 minutes into the match, Lede's goal looked a bit too open when Fredrik Van Achter came free, but Roger Stuckers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute Kristof Van Hoyveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jelle Liebrechts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Lede getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Timothy Wolput hit a great ball. After having played for 30 minutes, Joery Machiels managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wendelghem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joery Machiels was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Fredrik Van Achter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jelle Liebrechts made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luckas Baert in the 34th minute. Wendelghem's Fredrik Van Achter got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Lede getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Rein Daniels hit a great ball. Roger Stuckers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joery Machiels's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Timothy Wolput kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. If Fredrik Van Achter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fredrik Van Achter in the 48th minute of play forced Lede's goalkeeper Roger Stuckers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fredrik Van Achter made a kick off. Joery Machiels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Roger Stuckers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wendelghem's Joachim Colpaert shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 63rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Roger Stuckers but with some difficulty. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joery Machiels got free with Roger Stuckers in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 70 minutes into the match, Wendelghem's Fredrik Van Achter sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roger Stuckers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Roger Stuckers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fredrik Van Achter in the 73rd minute of the match. If Joery Machiels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Lede's zone, Fredrik Van Achter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roger Stuckers came out of the goal and Fredrik Van Achter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bastiaan De Vleeschauwer kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. When Lede's Kristof Van Hoyveldt in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wendelghem's goalie prevented a goal. Fredrik Van Achter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
