After having played for 3 minutes, Giles Van Arschot managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hemiksem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giles Van Arschot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jesse Van der Perren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Serge Huijgens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luckas Baert, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Lede's Roger Stuckers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giles Van Arschot in the 13th minute of play. If Giles Van Arschot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lede's Roger Stuckers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Lede from getting a goal against them. In the 21st minute, Charlie Boffin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luckas Baert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Serge Huijgens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Luckas Baert came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Lede fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luckas Baert couldn't finish the play. After 31 played minutes Hemiksem got a freekick which was hit by Julius Van Dessen. After a defensive mix-up in Lede's zone, Jesse Van der Perren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roger Stuckers came out of the goal and Jesse Van der Perren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The wind increased when Giles Van Arschot made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Lede's zone, Giles Van Arschot stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roger Stuckers came out of the goal and Giles Van Arschot tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 55 minutes into the game, Kobe Van Hespen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lede's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hemiksem the free kick. Kobe Van Hespen kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Roger Stuckers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jesse Van der Perren, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. When Jesse Van der Perren came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Hemiksem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jesse Van der Perren couldn't finish the play. 82 minutes into the game, Hemiksem's Giles Van Arschot nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roger Stuckers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Serge Huijgens was out of position in the 92 minute of play, and Kristof Van Hoyveldt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kristof Van Hoyveldt really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Rein Daniels hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute, Giles Van Arschot left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hemiksem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Hemiksem had won after a very even match.
