Rajmond Emeleers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilian De Wortelaer in the 13th minute of the match. Billy Schoenmakers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Anthonio Verdonckt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Gilian De Wortelaer took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Rajmond Emeleers to make any attempt to save it. Anthonio Verdonckt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renaut Dujardin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anthonio Verdonckt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billy Schoenmakers in the 37th minute of play. Wolfsburg's Rajmond Emeleers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilian De Wortelaer in the 41st minute of play. KFC Dergneau's Didier Verhulst got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Wolfsburg's Rajmond Emeleers got control of the ball when Didier Verhulst tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Renaut Dujardin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Didier Verhulst received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Rajmond Emeleers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Billy Schoenmakers was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Wolfsburg's goal looked a bit too open when Didier Verhulst came free, but Rajmond Emeleers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rajmond Emeleers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilian De Wortelaer, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Billy Schoenmakers in the 84th minute of play forced KFC Dergneau's goalkeeper Anthonio Verdonckt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Kenny Pelegrims managed to get in a good position for a shot. KFC Dergneau's supporters rose to their feet, but Kenny Pelegrims was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rajmond Emeleers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Billy Schoenmakers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Didier Verhulst managed to get in a good position for a shot. KFC Dergneau's supporters rose to their feet, but Didier Verhulst was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rajmond Emeleers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rajmond Emeleers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilian De Wortelaer, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. After a rather tough play, Wolfsburg's David Serneels got a free kick in the 98th minute.
