Andris Widdepenninck's late challenge caught a Wontergem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andris Widdepenninck helped the player get up and apologised. In the 5th match minute, vk valaarhof was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andris Widdepenninck to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind vk valaarhof's goalkeeper Alfred Lijsens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 7 minutes had been played when some careless play by vk valaarhof's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Balthazar Portmans was slow to take the kick. During this time Wontergem's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Balthazar Portmans got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Alfred Lijsens quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gery Van hoegaerde in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfred Lijsens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 11 minutes into the match, vk valaarhof's goal looked a bit too open when Bernard Goffeyn came free, but Alfred Lijsens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Tommi Leyman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Wontergem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Through an outstanding action, after 16 minutes, Harald Cuppens successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Harald Cuppens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Jamieson, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. When Florian Huijgens came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the vk valaarhof fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florian Huijgens couldn't finish the play. In the 24th minute, Corneel Docx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the game, Angelo Jamieson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Harald Cuppens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Angelo Jamieson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. vk valaarhof's Alfred Lijsens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corneel Docx in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th match minute, Wontergem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Vercruysse to maneuver through the defense. Angelo Jamieson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Florian Huijgens came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the vk valaarhof fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florian Huijgens couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bjorn Himschoot to strike the kick off in the second half. Harald Cuppens stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Angelo Jamieson's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Tommi Leyman hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Angelo Jamieson struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Harald Cuppens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for vk valaarhof. After a rather tough play, Wontergem's Bernard Goffeyn got a free kick in the 54th minute. Harald Cuppens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Angelo Jamieson went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. 64 minutes into the match, vk valaarhof's goalkeeper Alfred Lijsens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tommi Leyman. 65 minutes into the match, Bjorn Himschoot notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of vk valaarhof's Alfred Lijsens. Alfred Lijsens was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 72nd minute, one of vk valaarhof:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for vk valaarhof. The goalkeeper, Alfred Lijsens, was totally fooled by Wontergem's Balthazar Portmans, who 74 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Peter-Jan Scheerens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wontergem were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after vk valaarhof's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Balthazar Portmans took the corner. The supporters of vk valaarhof booed when Wontergem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tommi Leyman didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Wontergem's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Jamieson came free, but Harald Cuppens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Florian Huijgens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 93rdth minute of the game Angelo Jamieson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wontergem's Harald Cuppens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. vk valaarhof were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
