KAA Bautersem's Frederic Raeimakers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver Caers in the 25th minute of play. Robby Descamps came out of the goal and Edgard Justus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andrew Wilmots fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robby Descamps having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andrew Wilmots stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match Ernest van Haghten sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Robby Descamps skillfully saved the ball. Andrew Wilmots's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Robby Descamps read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Oliver Caers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Frederic Raeimakers made a huge save. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. KAA Bautersem fully deserved thier win.
