The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Remie Van Geele during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of AFC Averbode booed when Sparta Raptors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mattheo Van Gysel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmond Sellekaers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaud Gysens, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Edmond Sellekaers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cederik De Potter in the 16th minute of play. Sparta Raptors's Edmond Sellekaers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robbie Struijf in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Sparta Raptors's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Verengen came free, but Edmond Sellekaers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edmond Sellekaers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Verengen in the 28th minute of the match. Goffrey Eli hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, Floris Van Hole reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nico Vandeput. The goal made the score 1-0. Edmond Sellekaers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Verengen, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. A collision led to Sparta Raptors getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Floris Van Hole hit a great ball. 40 minutes into the match, Sparta Raptors's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Verengen came free, but Edmond Sellekaers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sparta Raptors's zone, Cederik De Potter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmond Sellekaers came out of the goal and Cederik De Potter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 48th minute, Remie Van Geele hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cederik De Potter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dante Dierickx to make the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Sparta Raptors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jim Styles to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute of the match Reinaud Gysens sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edmond Sellekaers skillfully saved the ball. In the 60th minute, AFC Averbode's Lucas Verengen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Jim Styles's late challenge caught a AFC Averbode's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jim Styles helped the player get up and apologised. After 63 played minutes Sparta Raptors got a freekick which was hit by Jim Styles. When Reinaud Gysens fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFC Averbode's protests and gave Reinaud Gysens a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Sparta Raptors booed when AFC Averbode was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reinaud Gysens didn't get a good kick on the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Sparta Raptors's Floris Van Hole sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nico Vandeput narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With his leg Edmond Sellekaers managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when AFC Averbode's Lucas Verengen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. AFC Averbode's Nico Vandeput played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Floris Van Hole in the 83rd minute of play. If Floris Van Hole had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute, AFC Averbode's Robbie Struijf dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Cederik De Potter struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Edmond Sellekaers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC Averbode. Edmond Sellekaers came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by AFC Averbode's Lucas Verengen. But to his dismay, Lucas Verengen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. If Remie Van Geele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
