Bernd De nuijter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daevy Stuijckens in the 10th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Pieterjan Goebelens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Royal Antwerp FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FCS Pekmere the free kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dante Adriaensens got free with Bernd De nuijter in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The wind increased when Balthazar Manaers made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Dante Adriaensens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernd De nuijter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Daevy Stuijckens's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernd De nuijter was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Bernd De nuijter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dante Adriaensens's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. In the 68thth minute of the game Dante Adriaensens who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Royal Antwerp FC's Bernd De nuijter was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Daevy Stuijckens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute Birger Michiels suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Claus Winnepennincks's late challenge caught a FCS Pekmere's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 91 minutes, Benny Focquier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FCS Pekmere's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benny Focquier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dante Adriaensens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Bernd De nuijter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the FCS Pekmere players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
