Spectators: 7555 (Terracing: 5668, Seating: 1737, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Mattheo Deroek got the match started through his kick off. Evert Berghmans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Ryan Huytterhoeven came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the SV Zulte Waregem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ryan Huytterhoeven couldn't finish the play. Steven Pelgrims hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. SV Zulte Waregem's Nils Koens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mattheo Deroek in the 13th minute of play. A collision led to KSV De Ruiter getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the match, SV Zulte Waregem's Ryan Huytterhoeven sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guy Sutens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Stef Van den Berghe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20thth minute of the game Mattheo Deroek who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SV Zulte Waregem's Nils Koens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stef Van den Berghe in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nils Koens saved SV Zulte Waregem from getting behind. If Stef Van den Berghe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SV Zulte Waregem's Nils Koens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stef Van den Berghe in the 28th minute of play. Stef Van den Berghe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nils Koens having to interfere. Stef Van den Berghe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Nils Koens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, KSV De Ruiter's goal looked a bit too open when Ryan Huytterhoeven came free, but Guy Sutens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Mattheo Deroek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nils Koens stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mattheo Deroek's shot from short distance in the 47th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ryan Huytterhoeven stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. KSV De Ruiter's Stef Van den Berghe got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as KSV De Ruiter's Mattheo Deroek slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nils Koens. That made the score 0-1 after 56 minutes of play. Guy Sutens came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by SV Zulte Waregem's Ryan Huytterhoeven. But to his dismay, Ryan Huytterhoeven quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Stef Van den Berghe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Stef Van den Berghe managed to get in a good position for a shot. KSV De Ruiter's supporters rose to their feet, but Stef Van den Berghe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nils Koens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to KSV De Ruiter getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Dries Wuets hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute Evert Berghmans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guy Sutens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guy Sutens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ryan Huytterhoeven in the 78th minute of play. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind SV Zulte Waregem's goalkeeper Nils Koens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nils Koens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mattheo Deroek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. KSV De Ruiter's Guy Sutens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ryan Huytterhoeven in the 82nd minute of play. Mattheo Deroek was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 84th minute. KSV De Ruiter's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Steven Pelgrims hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Mattheo Deroek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Nils Koens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SV Zulte Waregem's zone, Stef Van den Berghe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nils Koens came out of the goal and Stef Van den Berghe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. KSV De Ruiter were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
