FC Lommelse Azul's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merbes-le-Ch the free kick. In the 3rd minute, Christian Wolfs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastien Van Geestel struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Herman Lingier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merbes-le-Ch. After 6 minutes of play, Merbes-le-Ch's Felix Rockloos made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Herman Lingier was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 8 minutes, Oliver Hauwaerts mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merbes-le-Ch and the FC Lommelse Azul players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Merbes-le-Ch getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Oliver Hauwaerts hit a great ball. If Balthazar De Leger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Merbes-le-Ch's Laurenz Huybrechts got a free kick in the 16th minute. A hard, long distance shot from Dan De Wever flew over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felix Rockloos in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Herman Lingier saved FC Lommelse Azul from getting behind. Jef De Boel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierre Rijmenans, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. A throw-in in the 27th minute of the game was made by Benedict Mesmakers with Ward Van Hallebeeck as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Herman Lingier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Rockloos in the 32nd minute of play. Benedict Mesmakers's late challenge caught a FC Lommelse Azul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benedict Mesmakers helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd minute, Anthony Steurms hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A throw-in in the 45th minute of the game was made by Brian Van Linthoud with Christian Wolfs as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Balthazar De Leger charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Balthazar De Leger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Merbes-le-Ch booed when FC Lommelse Azul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Balthazar De Leger didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lennart Temmerman was the one to do the kick off. Lennart Temmerman hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Anthony Steurms hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. A collision led to Merbes-le-Ch getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Mateo Liboton hit a great ball. Jef De Boel came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Lommelse Azul's Corneel Carels. But to his dismay, Corneel Carels quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After a rather tough play, FC Lommelse Azul's Anthony Steurms got a free kick in the 70th minute. Herman Lingier made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Oliver Hauwaerts sent off a good shot on target. Oliver Hauwaerts scored 2-2 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Herman Lingier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Merbes-le-Ch's Felix Rockloos in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Lommelse Azul's goalie prevented a goal. Laurenz Huybrechts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Merbes-le-Ch's Jef De Boel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corneel Carels in the 88th minute of play. Benedict Mesmakers was shown his second yellow card after 91 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Benedict Mesmakers kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. 95 minutes into the match, FC Lommelse Azul's goalkeeper Herman Lingier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robbrecht Coomans.
