Rudi Reyniers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Alex Verstappen made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Fc Thunder's zone, Rudi Reyniers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alex Verstappen came out of the goal and Rudi Reyniers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Octave Clijsters blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Robbin Koten having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dreas Artois in the 15th minute of play forced Gierle's goalkeeper Robbin Koten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dreas Artois recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alex Verstappen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Laremans in the 24th minute of the match. After 27 played minutes Gierle got a freekick which was hit by Xander-Paul De Meulder. Robbin Koten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dreas Artois, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mario Laremans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rudi Reyniers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dreas Artois sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dreas Artois stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alex Verstappen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mario Laremans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the match, Dreas Artois notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Gierle's Robbin Koten. Robbin Koten was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rudi Reyniers hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Gierle's Robbin Koten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dreas Artois in the 65th minute of play. Alex Verstappen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudi Reyniers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute, Mario Laremans left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gierle fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Robbin Koten made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Lucien De Raeijmaeker sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot 89 in the game by Dreas Artois from a close distance when the talented Robbin Koten managed to make a qualified save. Gierle's players were relieved. Octave Clijsters in the 90thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Robbin Koten, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucien De Raeijmaeker in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Robbin Koten saved Gierle from getting behind. Gierle's defense didn't have a chance, in the 94th minute, when Dreas Artois scored to the left of an out of position Robbin Koten, making the score, 1-2. When the match was over Fc Thunder could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gierle throughout the match.
