Spectators: 7655 (Terracing: 5743, Seating: 1760, VIP seats: 152) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when André Johnsson took the kick off in the first half of the match. Ramon Vrancx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Andries Salms tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th match minute, FC Kamping was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vince Van Eyken to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when André Johnsson got free with Kenn Martens in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, FC Kamping's Vince Van Eyken got a free kick in the 13th minute. FC Kamping's Ramon Vrancx got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sporting Club Gent's Andries Salms played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wesly Van Cleynenbreugel in the 16th minute of play. If Wesly Van Cleynenbreugel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jacque Denijs fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Kamping's protests and gave Jacque Denijs a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FC Kamping's Jacque Denijs got a free kick in the 21st minute. After 23 played minutes Sporting Club Gent got a freekick which was hit by Tobias Blixt. If Wesly Van Cleynenbreugel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Johnsson had several of the FC Kamping's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 26 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Kenn Martens as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 31st minute Wesly Van Cleynenbreugel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andries Salms saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, André Johnsson put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Kenn Martens. André Johnsson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Kenn Martens when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Pieter-Jan Van Bombergen kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Kenn Martens stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Johnsson's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. 64 minutes into the match, Sporting Club Gent's goalkeeper Andries Salms had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aime Volckaerts. After 68 minutes, Vince Van Eyken mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Kamping and the Sporting Club Gent players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vince Van Eyken hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. André Johnsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 77th minute, Arsene Baboeuf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. André Johnsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenn Martens having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Kajetan Laba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting Club Gent's supporters rose to their feet, but Kajetan Laba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kenn Martens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tobias Blixt struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Kenn Martens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting Club Gent.
