Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Verheijt, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 25 minutes into the game, Christofere Vandommele was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fighters Against Cancer's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC Ajax Amsterdam the free kick. Christofere Vandommele hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After 26 minutes, Edward Verheijt made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Fighters Against Cancer's Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Stanny Tkint charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stanny Tkint the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 34 played minutes Fighters Against Cancer got a freekick which was hit by Stanny Tkint. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Joost Hosselaer in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th minute of the match AFC Ajax Amsterdam got a corner. Fighters Against Cancer's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Felix Olbrechts ran over to the corner to take the kick. 40 minutes into the game, AFC Ajax Amsterdam's Edward Verheijt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. 44 minutes into the match, Fighters Against Cancer's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoor Gijsbrechts came free, but Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Isidoor Gijsbrechts managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Ajax Amsterdam's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidoor Gijsbrechts was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Willem Verheijden to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 0-7 when Edward Verheijt sped through Fighters Against Cancer's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven. Edward Verheijt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven firmly grabbed it by the left post. Matt Melkval fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven having to interfere. In the 69th minute Isidoor Gijsbrechts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Fighters Against Cancer getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Sven Pineurs hit a great ball. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Isidoor Gijsbrechts showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-8 in the 75 minute of play. 77 minutes into the game, Matt Melkval was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. With a left leg Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven saved Fighters Against Cancer from getting behind. Bertrand Leemans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Fighters Against Cancer's zone, Isidoor Gijsbrechts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven came out of the goal and Isidoor Gijsbrechts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edward Verheijt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edward Verheijt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded AFC Ajax Amsterdam left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Fighters Against Cancer.
