The supporters of F.C. Kaiser booed when Club Brugge KV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lennart Van den Bossche didn't get a good kick on the ball. F.C. Kaiser's Niki Scheerens got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ritchie Decremer kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Lennart Van den Bossche had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomas Clijsters. F.C. Kaiser's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lennart Van den Bossche was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Lennart Van den Bossche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lennart Van den Bossche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Tomas Clijsters tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ritchie Decremer fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Brugge KV's protests and gave Ritchie Decremer a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Club Brugge KV getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Ritchie Decremer hit a great ball. If Niki Scheerens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The corner ended in Stan De Custer almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but F.C. Kaiser's Tomas Clijsters did a great save. Alex Weggers took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tomas Clijsters. F.C. Kaiser's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 44 minutes F.C. Kaiser's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Stan De Custer who took care of the corner kick. Niki Scheerens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Bartjan Van de kauter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lennart Van den Bossche to make the kick off. Lennart Van den Bossche came free with the goalkeeper in the 58th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tomas Clijsters could save by the left post. In the 60th minute, Club Brugge KV's Arno Vercruysse ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tomas Clijsters. Tomas Clijsters yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. 63 minutes into the game, Joery Gebuers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C. Kaiser's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Brugge KV the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 63rd minute of the game. One of F.C. Kaiser:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Club Brugge KV:s goal. In the 69th minute, Ritchie Decremer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, F.C. Kaiser's Tomas Clijsters got control of the ball when Arno Vercruysse tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Club Brugge KV defense, Niki Scheerens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bartjan Van de kauter. The Club Brugge KV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bartjan Van de kauter should have stopped the shot. In the 81st minute, Gillis Van Camp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Club Brugge KV getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Lennart Van den Bossche hit a great ball. Tomas Clijsters came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Brugge KV's Lennart Van den Bossche. But to his dismay, Lennart Van den Bossche quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. An unexpected shot in the 88th minute by Lennart Van den Bossche got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. F.C. Kaiser's Tomas Clijsters proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save F.C. Kaiser from getting a goal against them. Tomas Clijsters didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arno Vercruysse went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. Kaiser's zone, Lennart Van den Bossche stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomas Clijsters came out of the goal and Lennart Van den Bossche tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Club Brugge KV had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
