Spectators: 6837 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1837, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Herald Baecke started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Impegem booed when FC Luys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cederik Koppen didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 4 in the game by Luc Roscams from a close distance when the talented Timy De Mesemacre managed to make a qualified save. FC Luys's players were relieved. 7 minutes into the game, Cederik Koppen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Luys's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Impegem the free kick. In the 7th minute, Cederik Koppen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Impegem's Pierrot Bracke tried to score from far away in the 8th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Luc Roscams came free with the goalkeeper in the 11th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Timy De Mesemacre could save by the left post. Niki Moreau's late challenge caught a FC Luys's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niki Moreau helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th minute, one of Impegem:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Impegem. The referee gave FC Luys a penalty, 15 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gerard Dierickx, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Impegem's Lennart Franckx. 0-1. A collision led to Impegem getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Luc Roscams hit a great ball. If Oswald Clijsters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luc Roscams got free with Timy De Mesemacre in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 33 played minutes FC Luys got a freekick which was hit by Matthew Switten. In the 34th minute, Pierrot Bracke sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and FC Luys's Timy De Mesemacre didn't even have to move. If Ryan Shamp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matthew Switten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 42 minutes, Dolf Van Hermenghem mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Impegem and the FC Luys players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dolf Van Hermenghem kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Oswald Clijsters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Lennart Franckx tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ryan Shamp stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Cederik Koppen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lennart Franckx made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Cederik Koppen sent off a good shot on target. Timy De Mesemacre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herald Baecke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner ended in Pierrot Bracke almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Luys's Timy De Mesemacre did a great save. In the 61st minute of the match Niki Moreau shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Timy De Mesemacre showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Timy De Mesemacre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luc Roscams, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 62nd minute, Luc Roscams left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Impegem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Herald Baecke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timy De Mesemacre having to interfere. Lennart Franckx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ryan Shamp in the 70th minute of play. After 71 played minutes Impegem got a freekick which was hit by Laurent De Keuster. 75 minutes into the match, Ryan Shamp dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lennart Franckx, 1-2. Ryan Shamp blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lennart Franckx having to make a save. When Dolf Van Hermenghem was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 82 minutes had been played. A collision led to Impegem getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Dolf Van Hermenghem hit a great ball. In the 84th minute, Ryan Shamp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ryan Shamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th match minute, Impegem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthieu Vincx to maneuver through the defense. After 91 played minutes FC Luys got a freekick which was hit by Matthew Switten.
