In the 8th match minute, Fenerbahçe SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard De Vleeschauwer to maneuver through the defense. Gerard Dierickx took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for David De Kerper. Fenerbahçe SK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Timy De Mesemacre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Ooms, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Fenerbahçe SK booed when FC Luys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cederik Koppen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fenerbahçe SK's Ivo Ooms suffered a sore thigh after 18 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gerard Dierickx during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Timy De Mesemacre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arda Güler in the 23rd minute of play. In the 31st minute, Matthew Switten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute of the match Edgard De Vleeschauwer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Timy De Mesemacre skillfully saved the ball. When Benny Suetens fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fenerbahçe SK's protests and gave Benny Suetens a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC Luys getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Cederik Koppen hit a great ball. Fenerbahçe SK's Arda Güler got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th match minute, FC Luys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cederik Koppen to maneuver through the defense. Arda Güler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arda Güler in the 46th minute of play forced FC Luys's goalkeeper Timy De Mesemacre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ryan Shamp to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 50th match minute, Fenerbahçe SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard De Vleeschauwer to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute Arda Güler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timy De Mesemacre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Timy De Mesemacre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pascal Pelgrims, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 76 minutes FC Luys's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edgard De Vleeschauwer who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Benny Suetens managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Pascal Pelgrims hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Ryan Shamp's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but David De Kerper was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Pascal Pelgrims could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Timy De Mesemacre made a huge save. Stan Heremans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Timy De Mesemacre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arda Güler might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Timy De Mesemacre. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arda Güler ran back to his position shaking his head. FC Luys's Timy De Mesemacre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arda Güler in the 91st minute of play. Benny Suetens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timy De Mesemacre having to interfere. Arda Güler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fenerbahçe SK were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing FC Luys to leave the ground with a draw.
