After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Greg De Wulf managed to get in a good position for a shot. GoeBezig Vilvoorde's supporters rose to their feet, but Greg De Wulf was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lennart Franckx breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sergio Vissenaeken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lennart Franckx having to interfere. Herald Baecke received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The supporters of GoeBezig Vilvoorde booed when Impegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dolf Van Hermenghem didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute Greg De Wulf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lennart Franckx saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 played minutes Impegem got a freekick which was hit by Dolf Van Hermenghem. After a defensive mix-up in GoeBezig Vilvoorde's zone, Luc Roscams stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Quentin De Keyser came out of the goal and Luc Roscams tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergio Vissenaeken in the 32nd minute of play forced Impegem's goalkeeper Lennart Franckx to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Greg De Wulf's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lennart Franckx read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. In the 39th minute Sergio Vissenaeken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lennart Franckx saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Impegem's Lennart Franckx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Vissenaeken in the 40th minute of play. The goalkeeper, Quentin De Keyser, was totally fooled by Impegem's Pierrot Bracke, who 43 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Greg De Wulf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lennart Franckx having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

In the 55th minute, Greg De Wulf got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Quentin De Keyser took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herald Baecke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
