After a defensive mix-up in Fenerbahçe SK's zone, Murray Hägert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David De Kerper came out of the goal and Murray Hägert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Murray Hägert sped through Fenerbahçe SK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of David De Kerper. David De Kerper came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Royal Antwerp F.C.'s Murray Hägert. But to his dismay, Murray Hägert quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Murray Hägert put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of David De Kerper. An unexpectedly hard shot by Murray Hägert in the 22nd minute of play forced Fenerbahçe SK's goalkeeper David De Kerper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 23 minutes, Murray Hägert made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. Fenerbahçe SK's David De Kerper tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 26thth minute of the game Murray Hägert who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fenerbahçe SK's David De Kerper was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Murray Hägert managed to get in a good position for a shot. Royal Antwerp F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Murray Hägert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David De Kerper breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

David De Kerper was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Murray Hägert struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David De Kerper prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the final whistle sounded Royal Antwerp F.C. left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Fenerbahçe SK.
