Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Siebe Bautmans hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 9th match minute, SC Montzen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teun Van Hemel to maneuver through the defense. Charl Lijsens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernest Heirremans in the 13th minute of play. In the 14th minute Christiaan Walder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charl Lijsens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernest Heirremans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charl Lijsens having to interfere. Ac meloen's Charl Lijsens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christiaan Walder in the 19th minute of play. Ac meloen's Charl Lijsens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Ac meloen from getting a goal against them. Ac meloen's Charl Lijsens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernest Heirremans in the 21st minute of play. SC Montzen's Christiaan Walder got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Christiaan Walder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christiaan Walder might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charl Lijsens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christiaan Walder ran back to his position shaking his head. Charl Lijsens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christiaan Walder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Teun Van Hemel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charl Lijsens having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ac meloen's Matthieu Van Boxstael got a free kick in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Christiaan Walder in the 52nd minute of play forced Ac meloen's goalkeeper Charl Lijsens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute Christiaan Walder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charl Lijsens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Siebe Bautmans helped the player get up and apologised. After 64 played minutes Ac meloen got a freekick which was hit by Siebe Bautmans. Charl Lijsens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christiaan Walder in the 67th minute of the match. When Teun Van Hemel came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the SC Montzen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teun Van Hemel couldn't finish the play. Christiaan Walder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charl Lijsens having to interfere. Antonio Vermeulen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Giles Ceustermans's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Christiaan Walder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Charl Lijsens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Charl Lijsens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teun Van Hemel in the 80th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Teun Van Hemel managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Montzen's supporters rose to their feet, but Teun Van Hemel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charl Lijsens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 90 minutes into the match, Ac meloen's goal looked a bit too open when Christiaan Walder came free, but Charl Lijsens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SC Montzen were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after Ac meloen's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joonatan Stuijckens took the corner. The corner led SC Montzen's Joonatan Stuijckens to fire away a dangerous shot which Charl Lijsens despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Charl Lijsens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christiaan Walder in the 96th minute of the match. SC Montzen walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
