The supporters of Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin booed when FC Coppenst was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bryan Adriens didn't get a good kick on the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Coppenst fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 5th minute. Penalty! In the 8th minute there was a penalty for Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin. Gertjan Van Boxstael stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Samuel Palolahti. 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, FC Coppenst's goal looked a bit too open when Gertjan Van Boxstael came free, but Samuel Palolahti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's Wesley De Wever played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cesinha Simão in the 27th minute of play. Samuel Palolahti didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from David Smedts went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Samuel Palolahti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joonatan Ryers, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 34 minutes into the match, FC Coppenst's goal looked a bit too open when Gertjan Van Boxstael came free, but Samuel Palolahti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Samuel Palolahti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gertjan Van Boxstael in the 37th minute of play. Gertjan Van Boxstael hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Wesley De Wever made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bryan Adriens in the 48th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cesinha Simão to make the kick off. Gertjan Van Boxstael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Palolahti having to interfere. In the 62nd match minute, FC Coppenst was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luuk De Hoef to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin defense, Cesinha Simão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wesley De Wever. The Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wesley De Wever should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cesinha Simão in the 76th minute of play forced Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's goalkeeper Wesley De Wever to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wesley De Wever made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesinha Simão in the 77th minute of play. Wesley De Wever showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cesinha Simão in the 81st minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, FC Coppenst's goal looked a bit too open when Gertjan Van Boxstael came free, but Samuel Palolahti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A throw-in in the 86th minute of the game was made by Jammy Denys with Cesinha Simão as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Cesinha Simão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wesley De Wever having to interfere. Wesley De Wever showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jammy Denys, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Wesley De Wever took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bryan Adriens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Coppenst's Cesinha Simão got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 94th minute Cesinha Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wesley De Wever saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel Palolahti came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's Gertjan Van Boxstael. But to his dismay, Gertjan Van Boxstael quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
