When Timy Huijgens came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the KSV Jabbeke fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timy Huijgens couldn't finish the play. 27 minutes into the match, KSV Jabbeke's Timy Huijgens sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samuel Palolahti narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 31st minute Joppe deconinck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ewout Laureys saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ewout Laureys made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. KSV Jabbeke's Yoeri Koppens got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ewout Laureys stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bryan Adriens's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Glenn Schoutens hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Cesinha Simão might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ewout Laureys. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The supporters of FC Coppenst booed when KSV Jabbeke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gert De Meur didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jammy Denys sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edgard Koens hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Bryan Adriens did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-4 to the left of a surprised Ewout Laureys 88 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute Yoeri Koppens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Palolahti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind KSV Jabbeke's goalkeeper Ewout Laureys, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in KSV Jabbeke's zone, Joppe deconinck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ewout Laureys came out of the goal and Joppe deconinck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
