Ryan Mathijs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timy Huijgens, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Glenn Schoutens hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the match, KSV Jabbeke's goalkeeper Ewout Laureys had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arend Van den Ende. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yoeri Koppens in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ryan Mathijs saved Quenoy from getting behind. After 34 played minutes, KSV Jabbeke's Gert De Meur shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ryan Mathijs came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in KSV Jabbeke reached it. 39 minutes into the match, Yoeri Koppens had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ryan Mathijs. Quenoy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yoeri Koppens was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. When Brian Van Mellaert fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KSV Jabbeke's protests and gave Brian Van Mellaert a yellow card for diving instead. Brian Van Mellaert hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The supporters of KSV Jabbeke booed when Quenoy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matias Loos didn't get a good kick on the ball.
