The Boechout fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Boechout's Jef Rouvoet got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benedict Oliviers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jef Rouvoet's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. In the 32nd match minute, Galatasaray SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Constant De Jaeger to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, Galatasaray SK's Jakob Sas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antonio Van Geertruyen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 37 minutes, Sebastien Meys mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galatasaray SK and the Boechout players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 64th minute, Jef Rouvoet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benedict Oliviers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jef Rouvoet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jef Rouvoet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedict Oliviers having to interfere. If Richey Neesens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benedict Oliviers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Richey Neesens in the 94th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Boechout walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
