An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnout Naets in the 10th minute of play forced FC Hannutd's goalkeeper Octave Desmet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kristen Huts hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute of the match Remie De Rijck sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dany-Adams Van Geertruyden skillfully saved the ball. Lex Wigghers blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dany-Adams Van Geertruyden having to make a save. The supporters of Club Brugge booed when FC Hannutd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dany-Adams Van Linthaudt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maria Petrescus short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Octave Desmet to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 30th minute Lex Wigghers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dany-Adams Van Geertruyden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Octave Desmet didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Maria Petrescu went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Carl De Potter hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. If Maria Petrescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute, Christoph De Keijser hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maria Petrescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lex Wigghers stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arnout Naets hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 58 minutes into the match, Carl De Potter dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dany-Adams Van Geertruyden, 1-1. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dany-Adams Van Geertruyden showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 67thth minute of the game Lex Wigghers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Brugge's Dany-Adams Van Geertruyden was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 69 minutes, Lex Wigghers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Hannutd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lex Wigghers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Hannutd's Octave Desmet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maria Petrescu in the 72nd minute of play. When Maria Petrescu came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Club Brugge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maria Petrescu couldn't finish the play. Maria Petrescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Octave Desmet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Dany-Adams Van Linthaudt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aabel Nurmeots took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Octave Desmet. FC Hannutd's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Christoph De Keijser left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Brugge fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. FC Hannutd's Octave Desmet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnout Naets in the 92nd minute of play. After 95 played minutes FC Hannutd got a freekick which was hit by Dany-Adams Van Linthaudt. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Club Brugge fully deserved thier win.
