William Hostens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robbe Smidts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Will Carels made a precise shot to the right of Jorne Sulem. schoten's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. If Joop Eggers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as ZVC Wellen's Benne Tuytgans slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jorne Sulem. That made the score 3-0 after 31 minutes of play. William Hostens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richy Van Bettenrode, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Henri-Xavier Van Meerbeek made a precise shot to the right of Jorne Sulem. schoten's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. After a defensive mix-up in schoten's zone, Alan Huybrechts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorne Sulem came out of the goal and Alan Huybrechts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alan Huybrechts struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Jorne Sulem didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ZVC Wellen. Richy Van Bettenrode charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Richy Van Bettenrode the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joop Eggers stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Henri-Xavier Van Meerbeek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Jorne Sulem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorne Sulem stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alan Huybrechts's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Richy Van Bettenrode got free with William Hostens in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joop Eggers in the 66th minute of play forced ZVC Wellen's goalkeeper William Hostens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 68 played minutes schoten got a freekick which was hit by Andre Van Hoegaerden. William Hostens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joop Eggers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When schoten's Joop Eggers in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ZVC Wellen's goalie prevented a goal. Aaron De Maerschalck hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. During the 80th minute of the match Aaron De Maerschalck completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Aaron De Maerschalck a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of schoten booed when ZVC Wellen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron De Maerschalck didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute Joop Eggers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Hostens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to schoten getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Joop Eggers hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Robbe Smidts could shoot a difficult shot in the 94th minute, which William Hostens however easily saved by the left post. 97 minutes into the match, ZVC Wellen's goal looked a bit too open when Joop Eggers came free, but William Hostens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. ZVC Wellen had played much better football throughout.
