The supporters of RFC Liège booed when Lichten was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steffe Suteweij didn't get a good kick on the ball. 程城帆 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mars Overmark in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th match minute, RFC Liège was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dan Kadajas to maneuver through the defense. RFC Liège's 程城帆 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mars Overmark in the 25th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Remie Schamp kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ilídio Malafaia. That made the score 2-1 in the 38 minute of play. Lichten's Ilídio Malafaia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cederic Bollaert in the 40th minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Ludo Kint was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RFC Liège's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lichten the free kick. After a rather tough play, RFC Liège's Ludo Kint got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 46th match minute, Lichten was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steffe Suteweij to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cederic Bollaert was the one to do the kick off. Ilídio Malafaia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicodim Agusoaei in the 52nd minute of play. In the 55th minute Remie Schamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilídio Malafaia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the game, Axel Winnepenninckx was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RFC Liège's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lichten the free kick. Lichten were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after RFC Liège's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mars Overmark took the corner. In the 78th minute, Quentin Baele ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ilídio Malafaia was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After a defensive mix-up in RFC Liège's zone, Aureliusz Bienienda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 程城帆 came out of the goal and Aureliusz Bienienda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. RFC Liège made a substitution. Adam Panhuijsen replaced Jason Valkeneers. Ilídio Malafaia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cederic Bollaert in the 90th minute of the match. Jonathan Van Leempten hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The audience held their breath when Quentin Baele in the 95th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Ilídio Malafaia's left hand side. RFC Liège walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
